Book a Comedian ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data we collect

• Listing submissions (act name, contact details, bio)
• Event briefs (contact details, event information, audience, location, budget and requirements)
• Performer availability, quotes and commission calculations
• Shortlist and booking selections
• Booking enquiries sent through performer profiles
• Analytics data (via Google Analytics, if enabled)
• Aggregate performer-profile views and professional-link clicks
• Public performer contact details used for targeted business-to-business listing outreach

How we use your data

We use your data to review performer applications, match event organisers with suitable acts, obtain and present quotes, coordinate booking selections and approved introductions, respond to enquiries, measure which pages and campaigns create genuine booking demand, and improve the service. We do not sell your data.

We count aggregate activity on individual performer profiles so approved acts can see whether Book a Comedian is producing attention and booking actions. These profile-event totals do not store a visitor name, email address, event brief, form contents or a persistent visitor identifier, and performers cannot see individual visitor identities. View and link-click reporting began on 20 September 2026; direct-enquiry and managed-booking totals may include earlier genuine records.

We may email a working comedian or entertainment business at a public business address about a free reviewed founding profile or a relevant managed-booking opportunity. The message identifies Book a Comedian and explains how to opt out. Reply "opt out" and we will not email that address again.

When an organiser submits a brief, consent allows us to share the event details — excluding personal contact details — with a small number of suitable performers to obtain options. We only share the organiser's personal contact details after the organiser approves an introduction, unless disclosure is required by law.

Payments

If a managed booking reaches payment, we send Stripe the customer email, payment amount, selected performer name and a short event description so Stripe can host checkout and issue the payment record. We do not store complete card details. We retain the booking, quote, commission, Stripe transaction reference and payment-status records needed to administer the transaction, handle queries and keep financial records.
